All material concerns the Harris Collection of Brown University Library. Letters concern books of American poetry purchased by Eastman as gifts to complement the original Harris Collection. Eastman purchased in secondhand bookstores in New England, New York, the Southwest, and Europe. Advises Koopman on policy and scope, use of duplicates, prices, and acquisition of gifts from acquaintances. With this are lists of books and prices; an ALS/ from Koopman, Dec. 29, 1903, which lists accessions, income, expenditures, and desirable yearly income; and a letter from Charles E. K. Mees of Eastman Kodak, Jan. 13, 1921.

C.E.K. Mees was born in Wellingborough, England. He was educated at the University of London where he received his D. Sc. degree in 1906. His dissertation was based upon research in photographic theory. In 1912 he moved to the United States and became director of research for Eastman Kodak Co. of Rochester, N.Y. From 1934 until his retirement in 1955 he was vice president in charge of research and development. His laboratory was one of America's pioneering industrial research facilities. The pro...
